Accommodation at Swartberg Country Manor

Swartberg County Manor offers 25 comfortable en-suite guest rooms. The Historical House (1864) has four enchanting rooms overlooking a fig orchard. 

The Main House offers 11 stylish rooms, with breathtaking panoramic mountain views from the open lounge. 

A further nine rooms are set in true Karoo style cottages, with a dreamy honeymoon suite to top it all. Each cottage contains three independent rooms, each leading onto a comfortable veranda overlooking the mountains. 

Dining at Swartberg Country Manor

The Patat Restaurant, with its classically stylish décor, is a haven for relaxed dining and good conversation. Enjoy delicious, authentic dishes that incorporate the vast medley of unique ingredients that make up South African cuisine. Our hand-picked wine menu offers a delectable mix of South African wines.

Picnics & Pairings

Guests can enjoy al fresco dining on our beautiful lawns with our Gourmet Picnics – the essential Summer dining experience. Tuck into freshly made bread, homemade pesto and humus, a variety of cold meats and locally sourced cheeses and preserves…not forgetting a bottle of Tangled Tree wine, designed especially for picnics.

Weddings at Swartberg Country Manor

Say your vows on our well-kept lawns under a canopy of trees or in our 1930’s chapel, and host your reception in either the restaurant or in our immaculate gardens.

From intimate weddings of just 20 guests, to a more sociable soiree of 120, we can design a wedding package to suit your every need, all within an idyllic setting that is just an hour’s drive from George International Airport. 

Things to do at Swartberg Country Manor

“Voorbedacht” being a working farm, guests can discover the true essence of subsistence farming and daily walks on the farm allow guests to experience the peace and serenity of this beautiful valley.

For those who want a little more speed, mountain bikes are available for you to explore the more rugged terrain.
