Welcome to Zandvlakte Guest Farm - a wild and wonderful experience!  The jewel of South Africa's wilderness  areas, the  Baviaanskloof conservancy, borders the historical property Zandvlakte in the centre of the Baviaanskloof valley. The area is internationally well known for  its biodiversity. Relics of ancient cultures are still hidden in these vast mountain ranges.

The lifestyle is informal, relaxed, barefoot, quiet. There's a swimming pool at the homestead. Guests enjoy the rural late nights around a fire, walking, bird watching, reading and sleeping in the wild. Zandvlakte is known for serenity at its wildest!

Zandvlakte Baviaanskloof Accommodation

Zandvlakte is an operational farm offering accommodation, in old restored buildings, dating from 1811 to the late 1900's. Guests can enjoy either fully equipped Self Catering or Dinner Bed & Breakfast accommodation.

From wild bush accommodation with candles and gas to comfortable en-suite rooms and family units with electricity.

Dinner, Bed & Breakfast Rooms: Each Guest room has two single beds and their own bathroom, with bath and shower. Coffee/Tea and towels included.

Self Catering Cottages:  Cottages can accommodate 2-6 people with either one or two bathrooms for friends or family. Fully equipped for self catering with braai facilities.  Linen and towels are provided.  Bring only food, clothes, flash light and matches. 

Dining @ Zandvlakte

Communal dinners are served at the main homestead where all the guests share the dinner table. Traditional farm food (Boerekos) is served as three course buffet meals. 

Traditional dishes, such as lambstew, or lasagna or venison pie, with various vegetables dishes are prepared. Fresh salads aren’t gauranteed as it is a luxury in this part of the world due to long distances from markets. We try our best to cater to particular food preferences.

​Due to the long distances from major shopping towns, it is imperative, and will be appreciated if you book your meals in advance.

Internet/ Wi-Fi available at a nominal fee. No cell phone reception

No pets allowed.

• Length of landingstrip: 1 km.
• Surface: gravel.        
• Permission to land must be obtained from Zandvlakte and should be done at least one week in advance for your own safety.
